HB0290 - Divorce Orientation Class
State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill will cost the Courts up to $142,500 ongoing from the General Fund for divorce orientation class provider costs. This bill will also reduce revenue to the Childrens Legal Defense - General Fund Restricted Account by $47,500 annually by eliminating divorce orientation class fee collections.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
An estimated 9,500 prospective petitioners for divorce will no longer have to pay the $20 fee for divorce orientation classes, resulting in a total $190,000 in ongoing savings.
