State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill will cost the Department of Public Safety $50,000 in one-time dedicated credits in FY 2012 for database changes. The Department will also collect $96,500 in dedicated credits for background checks and research costs in FY 2013 and $20,500 each year thereafter.
This bill will also cost the Courts $51,800 one-time from the General Fund in FY 2013 and $22,800 each year thereafter for increased caseload. General Fund revenue of $51,800 will be generated for FY 2013 and $22,800 for each fiscal year thereafter for a total net General Fund impact of $0 each year. Restricted fund revenue of $11,000 will be generated in FY 2013 and $4,800 each year thereafter. Restricted fund revenue will be deposited in the Judges Contributory Trust Fund, Children's Legal Defense Account, and the Dispute Resolution Account.

Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
Individuals that elect to petition to have their name removed from the Sex Offender and Kidnapping Registry will pay a $125 filing fee and an estimated $193 background check and research fee in FY 2013 and an estimated $93 each year thereafter. Total payments are estimated at $159,300 in FY 2013 for 500 cases and $48,100 for 220 cases each year thereafter.
