Line Item: Lt. Governor's Office Function For the past two fiscal years, the Legislature has appropriated $50,000 per year to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor to support civic and character education. The funds go to a distinct line item and cannot be transferred to other purposes within the Governor's Office. Funding is granted to the Utah Coalition for Civic and Character and Service Learning to promote civic and character education through public relations campaigns, annual dialogues, teacher training, and student assessment.
