Agency: State Board of Regents Line Item: Jobs Now Initiative Function The mission of the Jobs Now Initiative has been to provide occupationally specific intensive training for individuals seeking employment by effectively and economically matching their training needs with those of industry. Funds were appropriated to the State Board of Regents, but two-thirds of the funds were allocated to UCAT for distribution to UCAT campuses as recommended by the UCAT Board of Trustees and one-third to the other USHE institutions. During the 2009 General Session, budget reductions left the Jobs Now program with approximately $500,000. In conjunction with the reorganization of the State Board of Regents' line items, this remaining funding was transferred to UCAT for Jobs Now efforts handled there.
