Hello, Joel,

Jay "JayMac" Mcfarland dominated in the Utah Debate Commission Primary Debate on Monday.

Quick takeaways:
    • Jay Mcfarland addressed the Black Lives Matters and George Floyd protests that wreaked havoc on Salt Lake City:
      • "We clearly have an entire population that feels disenfranchised who do not have the same American experience as others do and we need to fix that... We currently have a vacuum of leadership. We need to have good listeners. I see people rushing to corners and blaming others. But who is going to sit down and listen to the protesters? You cannot come up with real solutions unless you listen. The most wonderful thing I saw when I was at KSL was when Black Lives Matters was going to have a breakfast and protest. The local police department said, 'Why don't we make it a picnic?' They brought together the protesters and the police. It humanized the equation for everybody. We need to be listeners first."
    • Jay also elaborated on how he wants to restore civility to Washington D.C.:
      • "Can we choose leaders who are wiser who can communicate despite the attacks and insults? Are there not more Ronald Regans in the community? I think we should find them and we should elect them."
    • Jay discussed how he has the best chance to beat Rep. Ben McAdams in the general election:
      • "I've been engaged in a nine-year dialogue with Utahns. They know me. They know my heart. They know my mistakes. They know my trials. They know everything about me. That's why I have been able to bring people from the left and independents over to my side. The reality is, two years ago, District Four choose a Moderate Democrat. What makes you think that they're going to choose an extreme conservative now?"
    • Jay Mcfarland is the only CD4 Republican Congressional Candidate that wore a mask due to COVID-19.
      • "I don't understand who is making you wear a mask. People talk about this as being a personal liberty. Republican leadership is asking people to wear masks. It may help your neighbor. It may help your family member. I have a daughter who has extreme asthma, and it may help her. Nobody has a gun to your head. What happened to love thy neighbor? What happened to simple respect for other people?"
Can you chip in $25, $50, or $100 now to support Jay's leadership and bring him one step closer to changing hearts and minds in Washington D.C.? We can't do this without you and your amazing support.
