Happy Labor Day!
Today we celebrate all that our Labor leaders have done for our communities, state, and country. While the dynamics of work and family life have changed (not to mention during the pandemic), Utah’s labor unions are just as important today as they were over 100 years ago.
Utah’s working families provide essential work every day and have fought to ensure fair and safe working conditions for everyone. They have protected our access to healthcare, advocated for equal pay, secured paid personal and sick leave, and fought to have our voices heard in the board rooms. Their legacy is their ongoing advocacy that prioritizes the well-being and best interests of everyone.
So to yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s laborers - thank you! Thank you for the blood, sweat, and tears that have lifted all of us up and strengthened our community. I am grateful to live in a place where we all share the benefits of our laborers commitment to a better future.
Let's be bold together,
