Friends,

In response to constituent questions, I have carefully reviewed the federal court decision on gay marriage.  I am of the opinion that the decision is legally flawed and should be appealed.  I am attaching an opinion letter I have sent to the Deseret News that sets forth my summary of conclusions.  I of course have other concerns that are not mentioned, such as the court's conclusion that certain Supreme Court precedent is no longer controlling.

In addition to the appeal, there may be some things we can do legislatively.  I intend to talk with our counsel.
