Dear Mr. Howe: 

I am writing to strongly encourage the Judicial Confirmation Committee to confirm Governor Herbert’s nomination of Margaret Plane to the Utah Court of Appeals.

I was the City Attorney for Salt Lake City for ten years until I retired in 2013. As City Attorney, I was Margaret’s supervisor for six years. Her primary responsibilities were handling litigation and advising the City’s Human Resources department.

Because Margaret succeeded me as City Attorney, I also worked very closely with her on the transition.

Based on my experience working closely with Margaret over six years, I can say without reservation that Margaret has both the integrity and the capability to be an excellent judge on the Utah Court of Appeals. .
