Subject: Utah Court of Appeals -- Margaret Plane
To the Utah Senate:
I am writing in support of Margaret Plane’s appointment to the Utah Court of Appeals.
I have been a practicing lawyer for the past 13 years. Early in my career, I was a law clerk for Judge Carolyn McHugh at the Utah Court of Appeals. I also have litigated several cases on appeal, including to the Utah Court of Appeals. I do not doubt that Margaret would be a great addition to that Court and the Utah Judiciary.
I suppose the best recommendation a lawyer can offer in support of a judicial candidate is the assurance that he will be comfortable appearing in front of that candidate after her appointment. I confidently offer that assurance when it comes to Margaret’s appointment to the Utah Court of Appeals.
