AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $100,000 FROM THE
GENERAL FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 FOR THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF
UTAH; STATING THE USE OF THE MONEY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This act enacts uncodified material.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Appropriation.
(1) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Community and
Economic Development for fiscal year 1997-1998, $100,000 for the Children's Museum of Utah
to conduct a study.
(2) It is the intent of the Legislature that this appropriation shall be used to conduct a study
of the economic feasibility and facility requirements for a new Children's Museum of Utah,
including:
(a) necessary square footage;
(b) necessary parking for visitors;
(c) school bus accessibility;
(d) proximity to public transportation;
(e) availability of outdoor space for community exhibits;
(f) availability of classroom space; and
(g) availability of children's theater space.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act takes effect on July 1, 1997.
