6    AN ACT RELATING TO GOVERNMENTAL IMMUNITY; EXPANDING GOVERNMENTAL
7    IMMUNITY TO CERTAIN NONGOVERNMENT COUNCIL MEMBERS; AND MAKING
8    TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS.
9    This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
10    AMENDS:
11         63-30b-1, as enacted by Chapter 93, Laws of Utah 1979
12    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
13        Section 1. Section 63-30b-1 is amended to read:
14         63-30b-1. Definitions.
15        As used in this act:
16        (1) (a) "Public entity" means the state or any political subdivision of it, or any office,
17    department, division, board, agency, commission, council, authority, institution, hospital, school,
18    college, university, or other instrumentality of the state or any political subdivision.
19        (b) "Public entity" includes nongovernment members of the local interagency councils
20    established under the authority of Section 63-75-5.7 h , BUT ONLY WHEN ACTING AS A MEMBER OF
20a     THE LOCAL INTERAGENCY COUNCIL h

21        (2) "Compensation" means payment for services in any form whatsoever, whether per
22    diem or otherwise, except where the payment is solely for the purpose of paying subsistence,
23    travel, or other expenses incurred by the person performing those services.
