    AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $350,000 FROM THE
    GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 TO THE UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL
    DIVISION FOR NEW FIELD TROOPERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
    This act enacts uncodified material.
    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
        Section 1. Appropriation.
        There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 1997-98 $350,000 to the Utah
    Highway Patrol Division of the Department of Public Safety for 40 new field troopers.
        Section 2. Effective date.
        This act takes effect on July 1, 1997.
