5    AN ACT RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS IN GENERAL; PROVIDING THAT THE STATE
6    REMAIN ON MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME THROUGHOUT THE YEAR; AND
7    PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
8    This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9    ENACTS:
10         63-13-17, Utah Code Annotated 1953
11    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12        Section 1. Section 63-13-17 is enacted to read:
13         63-13-17. Mountain standard time.
14        Utah opts out of the federal Uniform Time Act of 1966 and the entire state shall remain on
15    mountain standard time throughout the year.
16        Section 2. Effective date.
17        This act takes effect on January 1, 1998.
