6 A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE LEGISLATURE APPROVING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF
7 RICHARD V. STRONG AS DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE RESEARCH
8 AND GENERAL COUNSEL; AND APPROVING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF M. GAY
9 TAYLOR AS LEGISLATIVE GENERAL COUNSEL.
10 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
11 WHEREAS pursuant to Utah Code Annotated (1953), Section 36-12-7, the Legislative
12 Management Committee has recommended the reappointment of Richard V. Strong as Director
13 of the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel;
14 WHEREAS the Legislative Management Committee has also recommended the
15 reappointment of M. Gay Taylor as Legislative General Counsel; and
16 WHEREAS the reappointments of Richard V. Strong and M. Gay Taylor in these positions
17 for a term of office of six years commencing June 27, 1997, are subject by statute to the further
18 approval by a majority vote of both the House of Representatives and the Senate:
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
20 Richard V. Strong's reappointment as Director of the Office of Legislative Research and General
21 Counsel for the Utah Legislature is approved for a six-year term of office commencing June 27,
22 1997.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that M. Gay Taylor's
24 reappointment as Legislative General Counsel for the Utah Legislature is approved for a six-year
25 term of office commencing June 27, 1997.
