    AN ACT RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS; PROVIDING A PURPOSE STATEMENT;
    APPROPRIATING $93,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR
    1997-98 FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ELECTRONIC RESEARCH LAW LIBRARY
    FOR THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, THE JUDICIAL BRANCH, THE
    OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE RESEARCH AND GENERAL COUNSEL, AND
    MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATURE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
    This act enacts uncodified material.
    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
        Section 1. Purpose statement.
        It is the intent of the Legislature to establish a statewide contract for the purchase of
    electronic legal research services, available year-round to the Office of Attorney General, the
    Judicial Branch, the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, and available during the
    annual legislative session to members of the Legislature.
        Section 2. Appropriation.
        There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 1997-98, $93,000 to be
    allocated as follows:
        (1) $10,000 to the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel;
        (2) $13,000 to the Office of the Attorney General; and
        (3) $70,000 to the Office of the State Court Administrator.
        Section 3. Effective date.
        This act takes effect on July 1, 1997.
