TO CIRCLE
1997 GENERAL SESSION

A RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE REVISING SENATE RULES; MODIFYING
REQUIREMENTS GOVERNING MOTIONS TO CIRCLE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
This resolution affects legislative rules as follows:
AMENDS:
SR-27.07
Be it resolved by the Senate of the state of Utah:
Section 1. SR-27.07 is amended to read:
SR-27.07. Motion to Circle.
A motion to circle any bill temporarily holds the bill in place on the calendar. [If action
is not taken to remove the circle from the bill before adjournment the same day, the bill will be
tabled.]
Section 2. Effective date.
This resolution takes effect upon approval by a constitutional majority vote of all members
of the Senate.
