5 AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $500,000 FROM THE
6 GENERAL FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
7 DEVELOPMENT FOR THE ECCLES COMMUNITY ART CENTER TO USE IN
8 CONSTRUCTING A NEW BUILDING; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
9 This act enacts uncodified material.
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
11 Section 1. Intent.
12 In making this appropriation, the Legislature recognizes the Eccles Community Art Center
13 in Ogden as a valuable contributor to the cultural, historic, and artistic enrichment of the people
14 of the state. It is the intent of the Legislature in making this appropriation to enhance the ability
15 of the Eccles Community Art Center to continue to help meet the statewide public need for
16 cultural, historic, and artistic opportunities.
17 Section 2. Appropriation.
18 There is appropriated $500,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 1997-98 to the
19 Department of Community and Economic Development for distribution to the Eccles Community
20 Art Center to use toward construction of a new building to house the Art Center.
21 Section 3. Effective date.
22 This act takes effect on July 1, 1997.
