6 AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $200,000 FROM THE
7 GENERAL FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
8 DEVELOPMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 FOR THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF
9 UTAH; STATING THE USE OF THE MONEY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
10 This act enacts uncodified material.
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Appropriation.
13 (1) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Community and
14 Economic Development for fiscal year 1997-1998, $200,000 for the Children's Museum of Utah
15 to conduct a study.
16 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that this appropriation shall be used to conduct a study
17 of the economic feasibility and facility requirements for a new Children's Museum of Utah,
18 including:
19 (a) necessary square footage;
20 (b) necessary parking for visitors;
21 (c) school bus accessibility;
22 (d) proximity to public transportation;
23 (e) availability of outdoor space for community exhibits;
24 (f) availability of classroom space; and
25 (g) availability of children's theater space.
26 Section 2. Effective date.
27 This act takes effect on July 1, 1997.
