8 PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ORDER TO HELP MAINTAIN A POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP
9 WITH THE STATE OF NEVADA AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATIONAL
10 SERVICES AT THE SCHOOLS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
11 This act enacts uncodified material.
12 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
13 Section 1. Appropriation.
14 (1) There is appropriated from the Uniform School Fund for fiscal year 1998-99,
14a S [$300,000] $50,000 s
15 to the State Board of Education for a one-time appropriation to expand the technology capabilities
16 of public schools in the state's northwest desert area.
17 (2) The purpose of the appropriation is to help maintain a positive relationship with the
18 state of Nevada as related to the quality of public education services available at Utah schools
19 close to the borders of both states.
20 Section 2. Effective date.
