6    AN ACT RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION; DIRECTING THE DIVISION OF
7    FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION AND MANAGEMENT TO BEGIN THE DESIGNING AND
8    CONSTRUCTION OF AN ARTS AND CONFERENCE CENTER ON THE SAN JUAN
9    CAMPUS OF THE COLLEGE OF EASTERN UTAH, SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION OF
10    AVAILABLE FEDERAL FUNDING h ; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE h .
11    This act enacts uncodified material.
12    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
13        Section 1. Construction of arts and conference center.
14        (1) Subject to verification of available federal funding of $1,102,000 for the construction
15    of an arts and conference center in Blanding, Utah, the Division of Facilities Construction and
16    Management is directed to begin immediate design and construction of the center on the San Juan
17    Campus of the College of Eastern Utah in Blanding.
18        (2) The center shall be used to provide classroom space for theater arts instruction and an
19    area for theater productions, as well as classrooms for business students who need a laboratory
20    experience in the field of small business.
20a         h Section 2. Effective date.
20b         IF APPROVED BY TWO-THIRDS OF ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH HOUSE, THIS ACT
20c     TAKES EFFECT UPON APPROVAL BY THE GOVERNOR, OR THE DAY FOLLOWING THE
20d     CONSTITUTIONAL TIME LIMIT OF UTAH CONSTITUTION ARTICLE VII, SECTION 8, WITHOUT THE
20e     GOVERNOR'S SIGNATURE, OR IN THE CASE OF A VETO, THE DATE OF VETO OVERRIDE. h
