APPROPRIATION FOR ADDITIONAL
2 HIGHWAY PATROLMEN
3 1998 GENERAL SESSION
4 STATE OF UTAH

6 AN ACT RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY AND APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING
7 $6,736,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998-99 TO THE UTAH
8 HIGHWAY PATROL DIVISION TO FUND THE ADDITION OF 80 NEW FIELD
9 TROOPERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
10 This act enacts uncodified material.
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Appropriation.
13 There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 1998-99, $6,736,000 to the
14 Utah Highway Patrol Division of the Department of Public Safety, for the costs directly involved
15 in the addition of 80 new field troopers.
16 Section 2. Effective date.
17 This act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
