6    AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $500,000 FROM THE
7    GENERAL FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
8    DEVELOPMENT FOR CAPITOL HILL PROJECTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
9    DATE.
10    This act enacts uncodified material.
11    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12        Section 1. Appropriation.
13        (1) Because the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum and Memory Grove are valuable
14    contributors to the cultural and historic enrichment of the people of the state, there is appropriated
15    $500,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 1998-99 to the Department of Community and
16    Economic Development.
17        (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Community and Economic
18    Development shall distribute:
19        (a) $350,000 to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum, for construction and
20    preservation projects, including the Carriage House addition; and
21        (b) $150,000 to the Memory Grove Foundation, for restoration projects at Memory Grove,
22    including the Meditation Chapel.
23        Section 2. Effective date.
24        This act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
