6 AN ACT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES; REQUIRING AN INCREASED FINE FOR
7 MOVING TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS IN HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION SITES.
8 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9 AMENDS:
10 41-6-13, as last amended by Chapter 138, Laws of Utah 1987
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Section 41-6-13 is amended to read:
13 41-6-13. Obedience to peace officer or other traffic controllers -- Speeding in
14 construction zones.
15 (1) A person may not willfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction
16 of any peace officer, fireman, flagger at a highway construction or maintenance site, or uniformed
17 adult school crossing guard invested by law with authority to direct, control, or regulate traffic.
18 (2) When flaggers at highway construction or maintenance sites are directing traffic, they
19 shall use devices and procedures conforming to the [

21 (3) (a) A vehicle operator who commits a speeding violation in a highway construction
22 or maintenance site where workers are present shall have S [

23a FINE IN THE UNIFORM RECOMMENDED FINE SCHEDULE ESTABLISHED UNDER SECTION 76-3-301.5

24 (b) The highway construction or maintenance site under Subsection (3)(a) shall be clearly
