6    AN ACT RELATING TO HEALTH; AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF CHILD CARE TO
7    MEAN THE CARE OF NINE OR MORE CHILDREN.
8    This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9    AMENDS:
10         26-39-102, as enacted by Chapter 127, Laws of Utah 1997
11    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12        Section 1. Section 26-39-102 is amended to read:
13         26-39-102. Definitions.
14        As used in this chapter:
15        (1) "Child care" means continuous care and supervision of [four] nine or more children
16    under 14 years of age, in lieu of care ordinarily provided by parents in their own home[,]:
17        (a) for less than 24 hours a day, for direct or indirect compensation[.]; and
18        (b) when the number of children under age six, including the child care provider's children,
19    is seven or more.
20        (2) "Child care program" means a child care facility or program operated by a person
21    pursuant to a license issued in accordance with this chapter.
