5    AN ACT RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS; CLARIFYING THE STAFFING OF THE
6    CONSTITUTIONAL REVISION COMMISSION; AND ELIMINATING THE POSITION OF
7    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FROM THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMMISSION.
8    This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9    AMENDS:
10         63-54-8, as last amended by Chapter 98, Laws of Utah 1997
11         63D-1-206, as renumbered and amended by Chapter 73, Laws of Utah 1997
12    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
13        Section 1. Section 63-54-8 is amended to read:
14         63-54-8. Appointment of staff.
15        [The commission is hereby authorized to employ professional assistance and] The Office
16    of Legislative Research and General Counsel shall, in consultation with the chair and vice chair,
17    provide staffing for the commission. The office shall employ other staff members as [it] the
18    commission considers desirable or necessary.
19        Section 2. Section 63D-1-206 is amended to read:
20         63D-1-206. Staffing.
21        The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel shall provide staffing for the
22    commission. [The commission chairs shall, in consultation with the director of the Office of
23    Legislative Research and General Counsel select an executive director.]
