Mr. Speaker:

    The Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 18, COMPUTERS FOR HIGHWAY PATROL, by Representative G. Adair, with the following amendments:
1.    Page 1, Line 8:    After "FIELD TROOPERS;" insert "APPROPRIATING $164,744 FOR TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT PERSONNEL;"

2.    Page 1, Line 19:    After Line 19, insert:

        "Section 2. Appropriation.
        There is appropriated for fiscal year 1998-99 from the General Fund to the Utah Highway Patrol Division of the Department of Public Safety $164,744 to fund the following technology support personnel:
        (1) one program director;
        (2) one programmer/analyst III; and
        (3) one technical support specialist II."

3.    Page 1, Line 20:    After "Section" delete "2." and insert "3."
