         LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX FOR CONSERVATION EASEMENTS FOR AGRICULTURAL USE

Representative Brown proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 10:    After "TAX;" insert "REQUIRING A COUNTY LEGISLATIVE BODY TO APPOINT A BOARD THAT HAS THE AUTHORITY TO DETERMINE THE CONSERVATION EASEMENTS TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE COUNTY AND THE AMOUNT PER ACRE THAT MAY BE EXPENDED TO ACQUIRE A CONSERVATION EASEMENT;"

2.     Page 2, Line 2:    After "county" insert "legislative body"

3.    Page 2, Line 3:    After "(i)" insert "(A)"

4.    Page 2, Line 5:    At the beginning of Line 5 delete "(ii)" and insert "(B)"

5.    Page 2, Line 6:    At the beginning of Line 6 delete "(iii)" and insert "(C)"

6.    Page 2, Line 8:    At the beginning of Line 8 delete "(iv)" and insert "(D)"

7.    Page 2, Line 9:    After "fund" delete "." and insert "; and" and after Line 9 insert:
        "(ii) appoint a board consisting of five agricultural producers, as determined by the county legislative body, that has the authority to:
        (A) determine the conservation easements for agricultural or water source protection use to be acquired by the county; and
        (B) determine the amount per acre that the county may expend to acquire a conservation easement for agricultural or water source protection use with the sales and use tax revenues collected under this section."

8.    Page 2, Line 13:    After "ordinance" delete ":"

9.    Page 2, Line 14:    At the beginning of Line 14 delete "(i)"

10.    Page 2, Line 15:    After "section" delete "; and" and insert "."

11.    Page 2, Lines 16-17:    Delete Lines 16-17
