             7      GENERAL FUND IN FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 TO THE UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY
             8      AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENT STATION TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON
             9      RANGELANDS AND FOREST LANDS IN THE CEDAR MOUNTAIN AREA; AND
             10      PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
             11      This act enacts uncodified material.
             12      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             13          Section 1. Appropriation.
             14          (1) Except as provided in H.B. 4, Appropriations Coordination Act, there is appropriated
             15      S [ $350,000 ] $200,000 s from the General Fund for fiscal year 1999-2000, to the Utah State
             15a      University
             16      Agricultural Experiment Station for research conducted in cooperation with Southern Utah
             17      University on rangelands and forest lands in the Cedar Mountain area.
             18          (2) The money appropriated in Subsection (1) may be used to make infrastructure
             19      improvements, hire personnel and consultants, and pay for expenses relating to research to
             20      determine how rangeland may be managed to support both livestock and wildlife and to investigate
             21      the replacement of aspen by conifers.
             22          Section 2. Effective date.
             23          This act takes effect on July 1, 1999.
