AN ACT RELATING TO SPECIAL DISTRICTS; PROVIDING THAT MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF A MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT MAY RECEIVE
COMPENSATION; MAKING TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
AMENDS:
17A-2-907, as last amended by Chapter 273, Laws of Utah 1991
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Section 17A-2-907 is amended to read:
17A-2-907. Board of trustees -- Organization -- Compensation -- Meetings --
Vacancies -- Quorum.
(1) (a) The members of the board of trustees shall:
(i) meet on the first Monday [
incorporation is [
(ii) organize by electing one of their members as president [
other officers as desired.
(b) [
(i) total compensation[
(ii) reasonable mileage and expenses [
conduct business connected with the board.
(2) Any vacancy on the board shall be filled as provided in [
3, Special District Board Selection Procedures.
(3) (a) The board of trustees shall:
(i) provide for the time, place, and manner of calling its regular meetings; and
(ii) establish rules for its proceedings.
(b) [
(i) three trustees may call a special meeting by giving notice to each member [

(iii) the majority of the members of the board are a quorum for the transaction of business.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act takes effect on July 1, 1999.
