             6      AN ACT RELATING TO PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT; MODIFYING REQUIREMENTS
             7      FOR LONGEVITY SALARY INCREASES; AND MAKING TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS.
             8      This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
             9      AMENDS:
             10          67-19-15.6, as last amended by Chapter 44, Laws of Utah 1998
             11      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             12          Section 1. Section 67-19-15.6 is amended to read:
             13           67-19-15.6. Longevity salary increases.
             14          (1) Except for those employees subject to the Executive and Judicial Compensation
             15      Commission or Citizen's Salary Commission, any employee shall receive an increase in salary of
             16      2.75% if that employee:
             17          (a) holds a position under Schedule A or B as defined in Section 67-19-15 ;
             18          (b) has reached the final step in salary range in the position classification;
             19          (c) has been employed with the state for eight years; and
             20          (d) is rated eligible in job performance under guidelines established by the director.
             21          (2) Any employee who meets the criteria defined in Subsection (1) [is entitled to] shall
             22      receive the same increase in salary for each additional three years of employment so long as the
             23      employee maintains the eligibility standards established by the department.
             24          (3) Notwithstanding Subsections (1) and (2), any employee who meets the criteria defined
             25      in Subsection (1) whose salary range changes due to a market comparability adjustment shall
             26      receive the same increase in salary as other employees in the salary range who are not in longevity
             27      status.
