First Substitute H.R. 4

Representative Eli H. Anderson proposes to substitute the following bill:

1 HOUSE RESOLUTION - ENCOURAGING TASK
2 FORCE ON SKULL VALLEY DEVELOPMENT
3 1999 GENERAL SESSION
4 STATE OF UTAH
5 Sponsor: Eli H. Anderson
6 A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES URGING THE GOVERNOR TO
7 FORM A TASK FORCE TO STUDY AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING
8 POTENTIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE SKULL VALLEY
9 BAND OF GOSHUTE INDIANS.
10 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the state of Utah:
11 WHEREAS, economic development alternatives for the Skull Valley Band of Goshute
12 Indians should be encouraged;
13 WHEREAS, a Governor's task force, with access to the resources of the Department of
14 Community and Economic Development, can focus specific attention on economic development
15 alternatives and contribute significantly to the efforts of the Skull Valley Band of Goshute Indians
16 to increase its economic vitality; and
17 WHEREAS, greater economic strength for the Skull Valley Band of Goshute Indians
18 increases the economic strength and quality of life for all Utahns:
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the state
20 of Utah strongly consider the formation of a task force to study and make recommendations aimed
21 at improving the economic development opportunities for the Skull Valley Band of Goshute
22 Indians.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Skull Valley
24 Band of Goshute Indians, Governor Leavitt, the Department of Community and Economic
25 Development, and Private Fuel Storage.
