                  AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL CODE; CREATING THE CRIME; AND PROVIDING
                  A PENALTY OF DISARMING A PEACE OFFICER.
                  This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
                  ENACTS:
                      76-5-102.8, Utah Code Annotated 1953
                  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
                      Section 1. Section 76-5-102.8 is enacted to read:
                      76-5-102.8. Disarming a peace officer.
                      A person is guilty of a first degree felony who intentionally takes or removes, or attempts
                  to take or remove, a firearm from the person or immediate presence of a person he knows is a
                  peace officer:
                      (1) without the consent of the peace officer; and
                      (2) while the peace officer is acting within the scope of his authority as a peace officer.
