APPROPRIATION FOR UTAH ACCESS FOR

             2
JUSTICE FOUNDATION

             3
1999 GENERAL SESSION

             4
STATE OF UTAH

6      AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $200,000 FROM THE
7      GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF
8      THE COURTS AS MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE UTAH ACCESS TO JUSTICE
             9      FOUNDATION.
10      This act enacts uncodified material.
11      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             12          Section 1. Intent.
13          The Legislature finds that because the Utah Access for Justice Foundation provides a
14      centralized system to match persons in need of legal services for a noncriminal matter with
15      licensed attorneys who provide legal assistance on a voluntary basis, appropriating funds for the
16      foundation meets a statewide public purpose.
             17          Section 2. Appropriation.
18          Except as provided in H.B. 4, Appropriations Coordination Act, there is appropriated
19      $200,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 1999-2000, to the Administrative Office of the
20      Courts to be distributed to the Utah Access to Justice Foundation as matching funds to funds
21      provided to the foundation by the Utah State Bar.
