         RESOLUTION ON USE OF TOBACCO SETTLEMENT PROCEEDS

Senator Davis proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, line 18:    After "federal government" delete "has also mounted" and insert "may also mount"

2.    Page 1, lines 21-22:    After "coming to them" delete the remainder of line 21, delete line 22 and insert: "as stipulated in the settlement agreement;"

3.    Page 2, line 28:    After "settlement" delete ":" and insert "; and"

4.    Page 2, line 28:    After line 28 insert: "WHEREAS, Utah is committed to use the settlement money primarily for public health and tobacco prevention programs as stipulated in the settlement agreement:"

5.    Page 2, line 31:    After "to determine" delete "how best to dispose" and insert "the legal disposition"
