RESOLUTION ON COUNTY ANNEXATION

             5      A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION OF THE LEGISLATURE AND THE GOVERNOR
             6      EXPRESSING LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL OF THE ANNEXATION TO EMERY COUNTY
             7      OF THE PORTION OF THE CITY OF GREEN RIVER THAT IS LOCATED IN GRAND
             8      COUNTY; AND DESCRIBING THE AREA PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED.
             9      Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
             10          WHEREAS, Section 17-2-6 , as amended by H.B. 49, County Boundary Changes, passed
             11      during the 2000 General Session, establishes an alternate procedure for annexing part of one
             12      county to an adjoining county;
             13          WHEREAS, that procedure includes a requirement that, by a 2/3 vote of each house, the
             14      Legislature pass and that the governor sign a concurrent resolution describing the area proposed
             15      to be annexed, identifying the county to which the area is proposed to be annexed, and approving
             16      the annexation;
             17          WHEREAS, an interest has been expressed in allowing the portion of the city of Green
             18      River that is currently located in Grand County to annex into Emery County; and
             19          WHEREAS, the Legislature desires to allow the voters within the area proposed to be
             20      annexed and in Emery County to vote on the proposed annexation:
             21          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature, the Governor concurring
             22      therein, that:
             23          (1) approval is given for the annexation into Emery County of a portion of the city of
             24      Green River currently located in Grand County; and
             25          (2) the area proposed to be annexed into Emery County for which approval is given is
             26      described as follows:
             27          That portion of the City of Green River located in Grand County, Utah as shown in


             28      annexation plats in from 1958, 1980, 1982, 1988, and 1989 and described as follows:
             29          IN TOWNSHIP 21 SOUTH, RANGE 16 EAST, SALT LAKE MERIDIAN:
             30          Beginning at the Southwest corner of section 11, thence North 2640.0 feet along the west
             31      line of said section 11 to the west quarter corner of section 11, thence east 5311.7 feet along the
             32      quarter section line to the east quarter corner of section 11; thence east 5312.3 feet along the
             33      quarter section line to the east quarter corner of section 12, thence south 7920.0 feet along the east
             34      line of sections 12 & 13 to the southeast corner of section 13; thence west 2648.2 feet along the
             35      south line of section to the south quarter corner of section 13; thence north 1320.0 feet along the
             36      quarter section line to the northeast corner of the S ½ of the SW ¼ of section 13, thence west 13
             37      2648.2 feet along the north line of the S ½ of the SW ¼ of section to the northwest corner of the
             38      S ½ of the SW ¼ of section 13; thence west 1323.3 feet along the north line of the SE ¼ of the SE
             39      ¼ of section 14 to the northwest corner of the SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of section 14; thence south 1320
             40      feet along the west line of the SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of section 14 to the southwest corner of the SE
             41      ¼ of the SE ¼ of section 14; thence west 3969.9 feet along the south line of section 14 to the
             42      southeast corner of section 15; thence west 4522.2 feet along the south line of section 15 to the
             43      centerline of the Green River, being the boundary between Grand and Emery Counties; thence
             44      along the centerline of the Green River through the following (11) calls, to-wit: N 19°17' E 597.6
             45      feet; N 02°11' E 917.2 feet; N 00°46' W 1202.4 feet; N 43°25' W 1647.2 feet; N 39°13' W 851.8
             46      feet; N 31°45' W 347.1 feet; N 14°24' W 735.1 feet; N 00°05' E 564.9 feet; N 15°15' E 927.1 feet;
             47      N 38°02' E 1103.5 feet; N 75°37' E 793.8 feet to a point 645.76 feet perpendicularly east of the
             48      west line of section 10; thence south 1550.8 feet parallel with and 647.76 feet east of the west line
             49      of section 10; thence east 689.0 feet; thence south 548.2 feet to a point 400.0 feet north of the north
             50      right-of-way line of US Highway 6 & 50; thence southeasterly 1350 feet along a line 400.0 feet
             51      north and parallel with the north right-of-way line of US Highway 6 & 50 to a point on the east line
             52      of the SW ¼ of section 10, thence South 59.0 feet along the quarter section line to a point 277.0
             53      feet north of the south quarter corner of section 10; thence southeasterly 1058.5 feet along a line
             54      400.0 feet north and parallel with the north right-of-way line of US Highway 6 & 50 to a point on
             55      the north line of section 15; thence east 1618.4 feet along section line to the point of beginning.
             56          IN TOWNSHIP 21 SOUTH, RANGE 17 EAST, SALT LAKE MERIDIAN:
             57          Beginning at the Southwest corner of section 18 thence North 2640.0 feet along section
