Mr. Speaker:

    The Education Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 193, TUITION WAIVERS FOR CHILDREN IN LONG-TERM FOSTER CARE, by Representative R. Siddoway, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 7:    After "CARE" insert "; AND REQUIRING THE DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES TO REIMBURSE TUITION WAIVERS"

2.    Page 2, Line 50:    Delete "25" and insert "22"

3.     Page 3, Line 62:    After "waived" insert "after the child has applied for and,"

4.     Page 3, Line 63:    After "benefit," insert "Pell Grant,"

5.    Page 3, Line 76:    After line 76 insert:
        "(3) The division shall reimburse the state's institutions of higher education for any tuition waived under this chapter."

        Renumber the remaining subsections accordingly.

6.    Page 3, Line 79:    After "amounts" delete "paid" and insert "waived"

7    Page 3, Line 79:    Delete "paid" and insert "reimbursed by the division"

8.    Page 3, Line 81:    After "offset the" insert "reimbursement of" and after "waivers" delete "at each institution"
