Senator Stephenson proposes the following amendments:
1. Page 2, Line 51: At the beginning of the sentence, insert "(1)(a)"
2. Page 2, Line 52: After "shall" insert ": (i) except as provided in Subsection (1)(b), if the vetoed bill or item of appropriation passed both the House and Senate by a two-thirds or greater vote, convene the Legislature in a veto override session not to exceed five calendar days at a time agreed upon by the presiding officers of the two houses; or
(ii) poll their members as provided in Subsection (2).
(b) The presiding officers need not convene the Legislature in a veto override session if either presiding officer receives affirmative notice from legislators who voted in favor of the bill or item that they are not in favor of a veto override session on the bill or item and the number of legislators opposing the veto override session is sufficient to reduce the number of legislators supporting the bill or item from that chamber below two thirds.
(2) If a vetoed bill or item of appropriation did not receive a two-thirds vote, the presiding officers of the two houses shall"
