             6      This act modifies the Public Officers' and Employees' Ethics Act by removing an exemption
             7      for contracts with professional golf association members who are public employees. This act
             8      makes technical corrections.
             9      This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
             10      AMENDS:
             11          67-16-8, as last amended by Chapter 93, Laws of Utah 1990
             12      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             13          Section 1. Section 67-16-8 is amended to read:
             14           67-16-8. Participation in transaction involving business as to which public officer or
             15      employee has interest -- Exceptions.
             16          [(1) No] A public officer or public employee [shall] may not participate in his official
             17      capacity or receive compensation [in respect to] for any transaction between the state or any of its
             18      agencies and any business entity [as to] for which [such] the public officer or public employee is
             19      also an officer, director, or employee or owns a substantial interest, unless disclosure has been
             20      made as provided under Section 67-16-7 .
             21          [(2) A concession contract between an agency, political subdivision, or the state and a
             22      certified professional golf association member who is a public employee or officer does not violate
             23      the provisions of Subsection (1) or Title 10, Chapter 3, Part 13.]
