                  This act modifies provisions relating to Veterans Memorials allowing counties to use public
                  funds to decorate veterans' graves and memorials.
                  This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
                  AMENDS:
                      71-2-2, as last amended by Chapter 227, Laws of Utah 1993
                  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
                      Section 1. Section 71-2-2 is amended to read:
                       71-2-2. Memorials by counties.
                      (1) The county legislative body of the several counties may erect and maintain, appropriate
                  monies for, and contribute to the erection and maintenance of, memorials to the memory of
                  veterans of the several wars in which the United States of America [shall have been a belligerent,]
                  participated.
                      (2) Memorials may be in the form of grave adornments, public buildings, monuments,
                  recreational areas and facilities, parks, and public places; provided, that no county legislative body
                  may erect and maintain, [or] assist in, or contribute to, the erection or maintenance of any [such]
                  memorial which [shall have its site] is outside of the boundaries of the county.
