         MEDICAL EXPENSES OF COUNTY INMATES

Senator Waddoups proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 6:    After " county expenses" insert " for certain counties"

2.    Page 2, Line 36:    After "(k)" insert "for a county of the first or second class and" and after "(2)," insert "medically necessary"

3.    Page 2, Line 37:    After "existing" delete "and preexisting"

4.    Page 2, Line 41:    After "(2)" insert:

        "(a) Expenses described in Subsection (1)(k) are a county charge only to the extent that they exceed any private insurance in effect that covers those expenses.
        (b)"
