Representative Curtis proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 2, Line 35:    After line 35 insert:
        " 53B-2-102, as last amended by Chapter 58, Laws of Utah 1991"

2.    Page 15, Line 433:    After line 434 insert:
         "Section 14. Section 53B-2-102 is amended to read:
         53B-2-102. Board to appoint president for each institution -- Public disclosure.
         (1) The board, after consulting with the institution's board of trustees, [ appoints ] shall appoint a president for each institution in the state system of higher education who [ serves ] shall serve at its pleasure and at such salary as it may determine.
        (2) The names of the final candidates for a president that are submitted to the board for consideration shall be publicly disclosed.
        (3) This section does not apply to the Utah College of Applied Technology. "
