YOUTH FISHING LICENSE AMENDMENTS

5 This act modifies the Wildlife Resources Code to allow the Wildlife Board to establish
6 criteria in their rules and regulations allowing youths under 14 to fish without a license in
7 certain situations.
8 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9 AMENDS:
10 23-19-18, as last amended by Chapter 22, Laws of Utah 2001
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Section 23-19-18 is amended to read:
13 23-19-18. Fishing license -- Season.
14 (1) A person 14 years of age or older shall purchase a fishing license before engaging in
15 any regulated fishing activity.
16 [(1)] (2) A person 14 years of age or older, upon payment of the fee prescribed by the
17 Wildlife Board, may receive a season fishing license.
18 [(2)] (3) A person under 14 years of age may[: (a)] fish without a license [and take a 1/2
19 bag and possession limit; or (b) purchase a license and take a full bag and possession limit]
20 pursuant to rules, proclamations, and orders set forth by the Wildlife Board.
21 [(3)] (4) A resident 65 years of age or older, upon payment of the fee prescribed by the
22 Wildlife Board, may receive a season fishing license.
