EXTENSION OF TIMING FOR CREATING A
2 LOCAL DISTRICT
3 2003 GENERAL SESSION

6 This act modifies Limited Purpose Local Government Entities provisions to change the
7 date before which no local district may be created.
8 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9 AMENDS:
10 17B-2-217, as last amended by Chapter 90, Laws of Utah 2001
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Section 17B-2-217 is amended to read:
13 17B-2-217. Limitation on initiating process to create local district.
14 (1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this part, the process to create a local
15 district under this part may not be initiated before May [6, 2002] 2, 2005.
16 (2) Subsection (1) does not prohibit the creation of one of the types of independent
17 special districts listed in Subsection 17A-2-101 (1) under the provisions of this part.
