6 This act modifies the Utah Fit Premises Act of the Real Estate Code. The act requires the
7 disclosure of methamphetamine production on residential rental units under certain
8 circumstances.
9 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
10 ENACTS:
11 57-22-7, Utah Code Annotated 1953
12 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
13 Section 1. Section 57-22-7 is enacted to read:
14 57-22-7. Disclosures required to tenant of property where methamphetamine
15 production occurred.
16 (1) If an owner has actual knowledge that one of the owner's residential rental units
17 was used as a site for methamphetamine production, the owner shall disclose this information
18 in the rental agreement.
19 (2) The owner is required to disclose under Subsection (1), regardless of whether the
20 person involved in the production was convicted for methamphetamine production.
