7 This act modifies provisions related to Occupational and Professional Licensing by
8 allowing the director of the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing to
9 employ and designate investigators as special function officers.
10 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
11 AMENDS:
12 58-1-105, as renumbered and amended by Chapter 297, Laws of Utah 1993
13 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
14 Section 1. Section 58-1-105 is amended to read:
15 58-1-105. Employment of staff.
16 (1) The director, with the approval of the executive director, may employ necessary
17 staff, including investigators, specialists, and professionals, to assist [
18 performing the duties, functions, and responsibilities of the division.
19 (2) An investigator employed under Subsection (1) shall be designated a special
20 function officer, as defined in Section 53-13-105 , but is not eligible for retirement benefits
21 under the Public Safety Noncontributory Retirement System.
