Committee Chair Hellewell called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m.
MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to approve the minutes of February 6, 2003.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hatch absent for the vote.
1. S.B. 114 Journal of Notary Public Acts (P. Knudson)
Sen. Knudson explained the bill and requested that it be returned to the Rules Committee.
MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to return the bill to the Rules Committee.
The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hatch and Mayne absent for the vote.
2. S.B. 66 Alcoholic Beverage Enforcement and Treatment (M. Waddoups)
Sen. Waddoups explained the bill.
Dennis Nordfelt, Mayor, West Valley City; Jaynie Brown, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers; Krista Dunn, Murray City Council/Salt Lake City Police; and Anna Kay Waddoups, DUI Chair, spoke in support of the bill.
Mike Sonntag, Utah Beer Wholesalers, spoke in opposition to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed with Sen. Davis voting in opposition.
M OTION: Sen. Bramble moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
Committee Chair Hellewell adjourned the meeting at 9:38 a.m.
