                  LONG TITLE
                  General Description:
                      This concurrent resolution of the Legislature and the Governor recognizes the National
                  Conference of State Legislatures annual meeting to be held July 19-23, 2004, in Salt
                  Lake City.
                  Highlighted Provisions:
                      This resolution:
                      .    recognizes the National Conference of State Legislatures annual meeting to be held
                  July 19-23, 2004, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.
                  Special Clauses:
                      None
                 


                  Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
                      WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has been selected as the site for the 2004 National Conference
                  of State Legislatures (NCSL);
                      WHEREAS, the conference will take place July 19-23 at the Salt Palace Convention
                  Center;
                      WHEREAS, each summer, this event brings thousands of legislators and staff together for
                  the largest, most substantive meeting of its kind in the nation;
                      WHEREAS, NCSL provides research, technical assistance, and opportunities for
                  policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues and is an effective and respected
                  advocate for the interests of the states;
                      WHEREAS, the annual meeting provides more than 150 informative sessions and presents
                  nationally renowned speakers on issues vital to the states;
                      WHEREAS, the state of Utah is making concerted efforts to ensure that the annual
                  meeting's participants have a truly memorable and worthwhile experience;
                      WHEREAS, the state of Utah is honored to host the 2004 NCSL Annual Meeting; and
                      WHEREAS, the annual meeting is expected to attract over 6,000 visitors to the state:
                      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
                  Governor concurring therein, recognize the National Conference of State Legislatures annual
                  meeting to be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center July 19-23, 2004.
                      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature and the Governor extend a warm
                  welcome to conference attendees from each state in the Union and its commonwealths and
                  territories.
                      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the National
                  Conference of State Legislatures, member states, commonwealths, and territories.
