RENEWAL OF FISHING LICENSE

             6      LONG TITLE
             7      General Description:
             8          This bill amends fishing licensing provisions to allow for licenses that are issued for
             9      365 days from the date of sale.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    amends fishing licensing provisions to allow for licenses to be issued for 365 days
             13      from the date of sale; and
             14          .    allows persons under 14 years of age to fish without a license pursuant to rules,
             15      proclamations, and orders set forth by the Wildlife Board.
             16      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             17          None
             18      Other Special Clauses:
             19          This bill takes effect on December 1, 2005.

             23          23-19-21, as last amended by Chapter 22, Laws of Utah 2001
             24      REPEALS:
             25          23-19-18, as last amended by Chapter 215, Laws of Utah 2002

             27      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             28          Section 1. Section 23-19-7 is amended to read:
             29           23-19-7. Licenses issuance -- Expiration date.
             30          The licenses [required by] issued under this chapter, except lifetime licenses, [shall be
             31      issued annually and shall expire on December 31st each year.] will expire 365 days from the
             32      date of issue.
             33          Section 2. Section 23-19-21 is amended to read:
             34           23-19-21. Fishing license -- Limited number of days.
             35          (1) A person 14 years of age or older shall purchase a fishing license before engaging
             36      in any regulated fishing activity.
             37          [(1)] (2) A person 14 years of age or older, upon paying the fee prescribed by the
             38      Wildlife Board, may receive a license to fish:
             39          (a) for one day; [or]
             40          (b) for seven consecutive days[.]; or
             41          (c) for 365 consecutive days from the date of sale.
             42          (3) A person under 14 years of age may fish without a license pursuant to rules,
             43      proclamations, and orders set forth by the Wildlife Board.
             44          [(2)] (4) The effective date shall be indicated on the license.
             45          Section 3. Repealer.
             46          This bill repeals:
             47          Section 23-19-18, Fishing license -- Season.
             48          Section 4. Effective date.
             49          This bill takes effect on December 1, 2005.
