GRAZING PERMIT FEE AMENDMENTS

7 General Description:
8 This bill amends provisions relating to grazing permit fees on school and institutional
9 trust lands and the purposes for which those fees are used.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 . amends provisions relating to grazing permit fees to increase the fee per animal unit
13 month (AUM); and
14 . allows the fees to be used for insect and disease infestations on school and
15 institutional trust lands.

24 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. Section 53C-5-104 is amended to read:
26 53C-5-104. Fees.
27 (1) The director shall collect a fee annually from each grazing permittee for the control

28 of noxious weeds [and], new and invading plant species, insects, and disease infestations on
29 trust [lands] rangelands.
30 (2) The fee shall be [5] 10 cents per animal unit month (AUM).
31 (3) Fees collected by the director under this section shall be deposited in the Land
32 Grant Management Fund created in Section 53C-3-101 and shall be used by the director for the
33 payment of costs incurred in controlling noxious weeds [and], new and invading plant species,
34 insects, and disease infestations on school and institutional trust lands.
