8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies business development provisions related to Aerospace and Aviation
10 Development Zones.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . removes the requirements that an airport have S [ an instrumental landing system and ] s a
14 manned air traffic control tower to qualify for an Aerospace and Aviation
15 Development Zone at or around the airport S ; AND REPLACES AN INSTRUMENTAL LANDING
15a SYSTEM REQUIREMENT WITH AN INSTRUMENT APPROACH CAPABILITIES REQUIREMENT s .

24 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. Section 9-2-2003 is amended to read:
26 9-2-2003. Creation of development zones.
27 The department, with approval by the board, may create an Aerospace and Aviation

Development Zone at or around any airport in the state that S [ [ ] satisfies the following
29 requirements: (1) the airport shall have [ ] ] [ an instrumental landing system ] INSTRUMENT
29a APPROACH CAPABILITIES ; s (2) the airport shall
30 have a manned air traffic control tower; (3) the airport shall have] S AND (2) THE AIRPORT s has
30a land available for
31 commercial development on, or contiguous to, the airport[; and (4) Subsections (1) and (2)
32 sunset on January 1, 2006, unless the Legislature determines otherwise].
